Early Season Hunts

Our early season duck hunts consist of the beginning stages of migrating waterfowl passing through Western Nebraska. You will be professionally guided on a morning hunt for many different species of ducks including mallard, teal, gadwall, widgeon and an occasional pintail. Early season usually consist of warm temperatures and an early morning bird flight. You will hunt a variety of areas from flat water pasture ponds, river bottoms, creeks and warm water sloughs. Most of the hunting will be done out of blinds but occasionally these hunts will be out of A-Frames, ground blinds, or other above ground blinds.

Mid Season Hunts

The later we get into November and into December we start to see bigger numbers of waterfowl pass through. Usually our migration is in full swing by then and some of the Northern birds out of Canada have made it to their wintering grounds here in Nebraska. The opportunity to put on quality waterfowl hunting is in full swing. Tens of thousands of migrating smaller Canada geese and Northern Mallards will start to show their faces around this time producing massive clouds of birds here in the Platte River Valley. The temperatures will start to swing at any given time producing snow and bitter cold weather providing amazing hunting conditions. By this time, we will have guides and scouters on the road finding feeds and patterning birds to ensure you the best hunting possible. The hunting conditions can vary so be prepared to dress warm! Our mid-season hunts can vary by location of the birds, we may be in corn field pits, lay-out blinds, comfy river blinds, winter wheat field pits, sloughs and ponds.

Late Season Hunts

Throughout mid-December to mid-January, we have come to find that it safe to say our big numbers of wintering birds have found their spot to wrest. With flat water freezing solid and the North Platte River providing open water under the harshest conditions, we do no have to stress to much about our waterfowl leaving the area. Our wintering bird numbers are truly a sight to see. With temperatures well into subzero and heavy snow fall, we head to the corn fields. Where you find cows, you’ll find wintering waterfowl hungry as can be, and offering some of the best waterfowl action the country has to offer. Most of our hunting will be out of pits and occasional lay-out blinds. We are constantly watching the birds to put you on the best hunts possible.
